Terms of Use

Twinema · Last updated: August 2, 2026 · Version 1.3

By using Twinema, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

Twinema compares movie ratings from you and your friends to recommend movies that fit your shared taste. Recommendations are predictions; we cannot guarantee that you will like them.

“Where to watch” information relies on third-party availability data and the country you select; streaming rights can change, and information may be delayed or inaccurate. Verify availability with the streaming service before paying it. Streaming-availability alerts are optional, can be turned off in the app, and—when enabled—are bundled into no more than one summary per local day rather than sent one by one; the same movie/service/region match is not notified twice.

2. Your account

You must sign in with Google or Apple to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. You must be a real person and may create only one account; you may not create an account for someone else.

You can delete your account in the app at any time.

3. Rules of conduct

You can message people, share movies, and write short movie comments on Twinema. Comments are visible only to you and accepted friends where neither person has blocked the other. You may not:

You can report abuse. You can block or report any user from their profile; reporting a movie comment directly also blocks its author. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours; content that violates these rules will be removed, and the account may be suspended or closed.

3b. Taste-match discovery ("Find a Movie Friend")

"Find a Movie Friend" is an optional feature you turn on in settings and is off by default. When it is on, we compare your ratings with other users who have also turned it on and show you daily candidates based on taste compatibility. For a candidate you only see their display name, profile image, a taste-match summary, how many movies you both rated, and up to two movies you both rated highly; their full rating history, watchlist, and movie comments stay private until an accepted friendship exists between you.

The rules of conduct and report/block rights in section 3 above apply equally to a match. If you block a candidate, or they block you, you no longer appear to each other as candidates. You can turn the feature off in settings at any time; once off, you are neither shown as a candidate nor shown any candidates.

4. Subscriptions

Twinema's core features are free. Twinema Pro is an optional subscription offered under the following terms:

Refunds: Apple and Google collect payments and issue refunds under their own policies. We cannot issue refunds directly; you must send your request to the store.

4b. If the service closes

We do not plan to shut down Twinema. Because unexpected things happen, we are stating in advance what we will do if that changes:

Because Apple and Google process payments, they also make refund decisions; the promises in this section are ours, not the stores'. Your rights under the consumer laws of your country remain unaffected.

The scope of paid features may change over time. We will not make a change that reduces your access during a period you have already paid for.

5. Content and rights

The app, its design, and its recommendation system belong to us. The ratings, lists, shared decisions, movie comments, and messages you enter belong to you; we process them only to provide the service to you.

Movie information and posters come from TMDB. Twinema is not endorsed or supported by TMDB.

6. Service availability

We work to keep the service available, but outages, maintenance, and errors may occur. Recommendation quality depends on the data available to us; we will tell you when the data is too limited.

7. Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses resulting from use of the app. In all cases, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us during the last 12 months. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Termination

We may suspend or close your account if you violate these terms. You may leave at any time by deleting your account.

9. Changes

If these terms change, we will update the date at the top. We will notify you in the app about material changes; continuing to use the service means that you accept them.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Your rights under the consumer laws of your country remain unaffected.
